July’s 50 Things challenge

Stand by for July’s 50 things challenge!

We know we’re almost at the end of the month, but we thought we’d save our great ideas for the start of the school holidays. And there’ll be another blog in a few weeks with August’s 50 Things challenge – so lots of activities to keep you entertained during the summer.

We’ve been looking at our “50 things to do before you’re 113/4 “ scrapbook and picked out three that would be perfect to do on Gower (or anywhere outside) this month.  So here they are:

July’s ‘Perfect Day to be Out & About’ Challenge : No24. Walk barefoot

It couldn’t be more simple. Take off your shoes and socks and let your feet connect with this great planet we call home. What are you standing on? Scrunch up your toes to grab at the grass or maybe it’s sand between your toes on the beach. If you really want to get in the zone, close your eyes to focus on what it feels like.

July’s ‘Quick & Easy’ Challenge : Make a grass trumpet

All you need is a blade of grass. Sounds simple, and it is! It might take a bit of practice so we’ve uploaded the video clip above to show you how its done.

And finally, July’s ‘Special’ Challenge: No49 Find a Geocache

We’ve got lots of geocaches on Gower. If you’ve never done it before or don’t have a GPS/smart phone, have no fear, you can borrow a GPS from the National Trust Shop at Rhossili. Earlier this month we blogged about our family friendly Geocache trail which even has a toddler-friendly course. Click here to find out more.

We’d love to hear about your 50 Things Fun.  You can email us your stories and photos to: gower.admin@nationaltrust.org.uk, post on our facebook page or tweet us @GowerNT
