Get Involved

How are you going to get involved? …

Here are some of the volunteering opportunities that we offer.  You can also click here to check out our Monthly Volunteering posts to see what we’ve been up to each month.

Something for the Weekend – Fancy something different to do on a Saturday? On your own or get the whole family involved. Join our Saturday volunteering group who meet on the first Saturday of each month. Discover the secret scenery of Gower whilst undertaking a range of practical conservation work.

One for a weekday – On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays we have volunteers working with the Warden on a variety of practical conservation tasks. From beach cleaning to dry stone walling, fencing to habitat management, there’s new skills to be learnt, people to meet, and places to go.

Working Holidays  Ever fancied a holiday with a difference?  Come and stay in the amazing new Lodge, our purpose built bunkhouse in the woods. Join a group of like minded people to undertake ancient boundary repairs, and habitat management work. The spirit of a working holiday makes friendships for life. An outdoor office for a day – Does your company encourage you to volunteer for a day? Take a day out of the office for team building or participate in a community engagement project. There are loads of things going on to get involved with like clearing the local beach or creating habitats for all kinds of wildlife.

One day events – Come and help at events like the local agricultural show, guided walks, talks, and activity days. Got a story to tell or interested in a specialist subject? Come and inspire others in your passion for the great outdoors.

Gower Guardians – Love Gower? Do you want to help look after your special place? Become a Voluntary Warden for the National Trust. Walk around your area, let us know what’s going on or what needs doing. Let’s work together to keep Gower special.

Ever wondered what’s out there? – With all the work we do we need to check how effective our management is. We need help to survey our habitats, plant and animal life. It’s amazing what you can find out there if you just look a little closer.
